Её сводного 52-летнего брата Томаса в штате Орегон остановила полиция. Он за рулём был пьяным. Автомобиль полицией был конфискован, Томас в алкогольном опьянении был отправлен в вытрезвитель.

На счету брата герцогини это не первое нарушение. В 2017 году он затеял ссору со своей сожительницей Дарлин Блаунт, и стал угрожать ей пистолетом, приставив его к виску подружки.

Своего неуравновешенного сожителя Дарлин простила и даже приняла от него предложение о замужестве. Свадебное торжество должно состояться весной этого года. Среди приглашенных есть и герцогиня Меган.

«Я надеюсь, что наша свадьба сможет сблизить нашу семью. Если Меган со своим супругом Гарри прилетят, то они смогут увидеть отца и провести с ним немного времени» — рассказал Томас.

Отношения в семействе испортилось после того как Меган не пригласила на своё свадебное торжество никого из родных. Исключением стала только мама герцогини. После этого многие издания стали печатать недовольные интервью родственников Меган. Томас назвал замужество сводной сестры «огромной ошибкой во всей истории королевской семьи Великобритании».
